Photographer Dean Preston

My style of photography is very natural and expressive. I want your photographs to express a sense of life. I believe there is a vast difference between taking a picture and creating a photograph.

I don't feel the need to over-process my images. A quality image is great because of the moment it captures and the skill set needed to capture it, not because of what's done to it afterwards.

I qualified as a professional photographer back in May 1997, obtaining my LRPS qualifications [Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain] whilst residing in Jersey.

I now live in Bethlehem, Tauranga, with my wife Ali and our son Josh. Before moving to New Zealand, I worked for a number of professional photographers in the UK, along with other assignments for the local press.

One of my toughest challenges to date came when I was chosen as the official photographer for the States of Jersey in July of 1988 with the visit of HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne. It was a great honour .... and, one hell of an experience!

My work is about capturing natural expressions, personality, and the right mood. I have been a photographer for several years now and I love every minute of it. My photography is how I speak!

If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact me.

I look forward to working with you.
