A little about myself …. basics first !  My name is Dean Preston and I live in Bethlehem, Tauranga - with my wife [Ali] and son [Josh].

I have been a photographer for several years now and love every minute of it. My photography is how I speak !

Through the lens I’ve learned how to capture special moments … my work is the result of a collaborative effort - I give you a little bit of direction and then let the rest naturally fall into place !

My style of photography is very natural and expressive. I want your photographs to convey a sense of life. It's about capturing mood, expression and emotion through the lens and portraying them with artistic vision. I don't feel the need to over-process my images. A quality image is great because of the moment it captures and the skill set needed to capture it, not because of what's done to it afterwards. Basically, keeping things as real as possible.

Other  profession … if I wasn’t a photographer, I’d be an air-guitar rock star … something that I can still do in my spare time!

Credentials …… I qualified as a professional photographer back in May 1997, obtaining my LRPS qualifications [Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain] whilst residing in Jersey. Prior to moving ‘down under’, I worked for a number of professional photographers - along with other assignments for the local press.

Your Highness …...  one of my toughest challenges to date was being chosen as the ‘official’ photographer for the States of Jersey in July of 1988 with the visit of 'HRH The Princess Royal' [Princess Anne]!  A great honour and one hell of an experience!!
